Terms of Service
1. Services
ONREAL offers two separate services. Each is purchased on its own terms, and buying one does not include the other.
- Japan Source & Accuracy Audit Sprint
- Research-based editorial quality assurance for agreed English-language content about Japan. It may identify source gaps, information-freshness issues, wording that exceeds available evidence, missing cultural context, and correction priorities. It does not certify perfect accuracy or guarantee that every issue can be found.
- Matcha Origin Verification
- A documentary review of a supplier’s origin claims for a stated matcha product or lot, checked against Japanese-language primary and authoritative sources, delivered as an English-language Origin Dossier. It reports what the supplied documents do and do not establish. It does not certify authenticity, guarantee origin, or provide legal, customs, or import advice.
Section 2 sets out the scope and fee for each service. Sections 3 to 10 apply to both services unless stated otherwise.
2. Scope and fees
2.1 Japan Source & Accuracy Audit Sprint — paid beta
- Fee: $750 USD, paid in full before work begins.
- Capacity: three paid beta engagements.
- Scope: up to three agreed English-language assets within one defined topic or content package.
- Combined input limit: up to 4,000 English words, or up to 30 minutes of audio or video supplied with an editable English transcript.
- Claim limit: up to 15 prioritized factual claims.
- Research: up to 15 relevant Japanese-language primary or authoritative sources, where available.
- Format: fully remote and asynchronous.
- Renewal: no subscription or automatic renewal.
Final accepted assets, topic boundary, exclusions, and required materials must be confirmed in writing before payment. If a request exceeds the limits above, the parties must either narrow the scope or agree to a separate written quote before payment.
2.2 Matcha Origin Verification — Tier 1, document verification
- Fee: $450 USD, paid in full before work begins.
- Scope: one stated matcha product or lot, and the supplier documents provided for it.
- Deliverable: one English-language Origin Dossier setting out what the documents establish, what they do not establish, and which questions remain open.
- Delivery period: seven business days.
- Format: fully remote and asynchronous.
- Renewal: no subscription or automatic renewal.
The product or lot, the documents to be reviewed, and any exclusions must be confirmed in writing before payment. ONREAL reviews only the documents supplied by the client, checked against publicly available Japanese-language sources. ONREAL does not contact the client’s supplier and does not obtain documents from the supplier on the client’s behalf.
2.3 Laboratory-supported tier — not offered for sale
A laboratory-supported tier is in preparation. It is not currently offered for sale and cannot be purchased through this website. Its availability, scope, fees, laboratory arrangements, sample handling, and delivery period are not final. Any interest is recorded only as a waiting-list entry, which creates no obligation on either party. If the tier becomes available, ONREAL will confirm its terms in writing before any payment is requested.
3. Start condition and delivery
For either service, the seven-business-day delivery period begins only after all of the following are complete: payment, written scope confirmation, and receipt of all required inputs in an accessible form.
A payment by itself does not start the delivery period.
4. Client responsibilities
- Provide only materials the client is authorized to share.
- Remove passwords and unnecessary personal, confidential, or regulated information.
- Supply editable transcripts for audio or video materials.
- Identify the intended audience, publication timing, and review questions.
- Make final editorial, legal, regulatory, and publication decisions independently.
- For Matcha Origin Verification: supply the supplier documents the client is authorized to share, state the product or lot the documents relate to, and make final purchasing, contractual, and regulatory decisions independently.
5. Exclusions
Neither service includes travel planning or booking, personalized itineraries, translation, full English rewriting, editing, publishing, content implementation, legal or regulatory advice, medical or nutritional advice, tax advice, software, integrations, automation, SaaS, ongoing monitoring, or guaranteed commercial results.
Matcha Origin Verification additionally does not include certification of authenticity, any guarantee of origin, laboratory testing, sampling, customs, import, or food-safety advice, supplier negotiation, or any statement that a specific product or supplier is mislabelled. The Origin Dossier reports what the supplied documents do and do not establish; the client makes its own commercial decisions.
6. Clarification round
For the Japan Source & Accuracy Audit Sprint, one written clarification round is included when submitted within seven calendar days after delivery.
For Matcha Origin Verification (Tier 1), one written clarification round is included when submitted within five business days after delivery.
In either case, the round is limited to questions about the delivered audit or Origin Dossier and does not expand the agreed scope.
7. Cancellation, refunds, and data
Cancellation and refund handling is governed by the separate Cancellation & Refund page. Information handling is governed by the separate Privacy & Data Handling page.
8. Client materials and audit deliverables
The client retains its rights in the materials it provides. ONREAL may use those materials only to evaluate the request, perform the agreed audit, communicate with the client, and meet legal or accounting obligations.
The client may use the delivered audit or Origin Dossier for its own editorial, purchasing, and business decision-making, including sharing it with its own customers. ONREAL retains its pre-existing methods, templates, checklists, and general know-how.
Neither the audit nor the Origin Dossier may be presented as a certification, an accreditation, or a finding that a named third party has acted wrongly. This does not prevent accurate quotation of the documented findings in context.
9. Beta disclosure
ONREAL does not yet claim English-market client case studies for either service. Participation does not require a testimonial or permission to identify the client, its content, its suppliers, or its products.
10. Contact and applicable rights
Questions about these terms may be sent to [email protected]. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
