For importers, brands, and wholesale buyers of Japanese matcha: ONREAL verifies your supplier's origin story against primary Japanese-language sources. You receive an English-language Origin Dossier you can use in your own buying decisions and share with your customers. A laboratory-supported tier is in preparation.

Why buyers ask for this

Global demand for matcha is growing faster than Japan's shaded tencha fields. When demand outruns supply, labels drift: origin claims, harvest claims, and grade language get more generous than the paperwork behind them. Most overseas buyers cannot read the primary Japanese sources — corporate registries, producer records, certification documents — that would confirm or challenge a supplier's story. We can, and we do it for a fixed fee, in writing, with sources cited.

What's inside an Origin Dossier

Claim ledger
Every origin, harvest, grade, and certification claim your supplier makes — itemized.
Risk register
Each claim rated RED / AMBER / GREEN: consistent with the evidence, unverifiable, or contradicted.
Document review
What each document shows, what it does not show, and what is missing.
Lab analysis
Not part of Tier 1. Included only if the laboratory-supported tier becomes available.
Suggested questions
Specific, polite questions to put to your supplier where the evidence is thin.

We report whether claims are consistent with the evidence. We do not label any product or company as "fake," and the Dossier is a confidential deliverable for your business use — not for public accusations.

How it works

  1. Fit check (free). Email us a short description of your situation. We confirm whether your case fits the scope — no sales call.
  2. Written scope confirmation. We agree in writing on the supplier and the documents to be reviewed.
  3. Payment. Full payment in advance by card (Stripe).
  4. Verification. Document review begins once payment and the written scope confirmation are complete.
  5. Dossier delivery. Written questions are welcome for 5 business days after delivery — fully asynchronous.

What this service is not

  • Not a certification body — we verify evidence; we do not issue certifications or guarantees of authenticity.
  • Not a broker — we do not buy, sell, or take commissions on tea.
  • Not legal advice, customs advice, or import representation.
  • Not a public rating or exposé service — Dossiers are confidential to the client.

To be transparent: this is a paid beta. Verification methods are established, but we do not yet have published case studies for this service. Beta pricing reflects that.
